Digital Marketing Essentials

Digital marketing is made of many channels that often get used in no particular order, without a logic holding them together. This course exists to build that logic: understanding the path a person takes before buying, and which channel matters at which point.

We cover email marketing, social, advertising on Google and Meta, content marketing and analytics. For each channel we look at what it can do, what it costs in time and money, and how it is measured. The aim is not to master everything: it is to be able to choose.

The final module is about data, which is where most companies stop: which KPIs to watch, how to set them up, and how to use numbers to decide rather than to justify decisions already taken.

Programme

  1. 01

    Customer journey, funnels and touchpoints

The path from first contact to purchase, and which channel serves which stage. The map that gives the rest its meaning.

  2. 02

    Email marketing: newsletters, automation, segmentation

The highest-return channel and the most neglected. Lists, segments, automated sequences and the metrics that actually matter.

  3. 03

Social media marketing: strategy and content

Choosing platforms based on where the customers are, not where everyone is. Formats, frequency and community management.

  4. 04

Google Ads and Meta Ads: fundamentals

Account structure, targeting, budget and reading results. A real campaign is set up with a modest budget.

  5. 05

Content marketing, blogging and editorial SEO

Producing content that brings traffic over time rather than burning out in a day, and connecting it to the wider strategy.

  6. 06

    Analytics, KPIs and data-driven optimisation

Setting up tracking, picking a few meaningful indicators, and using them to decide where budget and attention should move.

Tailored programmes

No course is a fixed package. Duration, angle and depth are agreed around the objectives of the people taking part, and topics from different courses can be combined into a single programme. I work with corporate groups and with one person alone: tell me what you need and we will build the programme.

Frequently asked questions

Does it go deep on one channel?

No, it is deliberately a practical overview. For depth there is the SEO course; dedicated modules on other channels can be built on request.

Is an advertising budget needed?

A token budget is enough for the Ads exercise. In corporate courses we work on the existing account.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes, no prior knowledge is assumed.

Can we use our own company data?

In corporate programmes that is the recommended format: we work on the real accounts and real numbers.
